Water leaking from your unit?
Let’s figure out what’s going on.
Where do you see the water?
FAQs
▶Is water around my AC normal?
A small amount of condensation can be normal. Pooling water or recurring leaks usually indicate a clogged drain, frozen coil thawing, or a drain pan issue.
▶Should I turn the system off if there’s water leaking?
If water is actively pooling or near electrical components, turn the system off and call. If it’s minor, you can check the filter and drain line first.
▶What’s the most common cause?
A clogged condensate drain line is very common—especially in humid weather.
▶Can a dirty filter cause water leaks?
Yes. Restricted airflow can cause the coil to freeze and then leak water as it thaws.
▶When should I stop troubleshooting and call?
If water is near electrical parts, you see ice repeatedly, there’s ceiling/wall water damage, or the leak keeps returning—call.
